RAINBOW FARM, MINAS GERAIS

Last supported in 2010

Following a successful grant application in 2008, CRY was able to work in partnership with The Rainbow Farm Trust to build a family home. This home will accommodate 10 children who have been abandoned, neglected or abused and for whom there is no prospect of a return to family care or adoption. The Yellow House will enable these children to live in “family type” homes with dedicated carers. It will also provide a safe environment where the children can mature and be prepared for independence.

This is part of a complex which eventually will care for 40 children in four houses and also provide short term “camp” facilities for over 400 deprived and needy children. Additionally farming and other income generating projects will be developed using the 160 acres of adjoining land to provide a degree of self-sufficiency for the project.
