CRY PROJECTS

CRY is an international charity reaching out to children through projects in different countries across the world. You can sponsor a project for as little as £2 a month or you can also make one-off donations to any project - click on any one of the countries below to find out more about the projects you can sponsor through CRY.

ALBANIA

Home of Hope Resource Centre, Elbasan: 13 children in residential care; 5 young people in supported accommodation; 5 young people supported with their families; 60 children in day care and after care; community family support. Outreach to teenagers and their families.

Bethel Day Centre, Tirana: Over 30 children in 3 day centres, outreach to Roma Communities

BULGARIA

Shalom Centre, Lovech: 100 poor and orphaned children, local gypsy children, outreach to over 60 young people including evening entertainment, coffee centre for mothers and children.

CAMBODIA

Pregnancy Waiting Houses, STUNG TRENG, PREAH VIHEAR, RATANAKIRI, KRATIE: These Waiting Houses & the local midwife support has had a significant impact on infant & maternal mortality rate in the region. There are plans to replicate these houses in other regions, develop a link with a local school in a deprived area and build an orphanage.

INDIA (NEW)

ASHA HIV/AIDS Clinic, Mumbai: Supporting 22 children and their families who are infected or affected by HIV/AIDS in Mumbai.

MEXICO (NEW)

Oasis Night Shelter, Guadalajare: Residential unit for 12 boys providing year-round care; and parenting school for families at risk.

ROMANIA

Day Centre, Brasov: Over 80 young people living on the streets supported daily and through summer camps, 7 young people living in the night shelter and supported into work, a social canteen reaching out to the poor and disadvantaged in the community.

RUSSIA

New Way School, Armavir: Bursaries for 20 children from deprived & social excluded communities, giving them a high quality education.
Drug Rehab Centre, Podgornaya: 80% success rate having a huge impact on the local community & many lives being changes from despair hope.
Day Centre, Makhachkala: Outreach to many young people needing training & skills to divert them from lives of drugs and crime.

RWANDA (NEW)

Secondary School, Kigali: In partnership with Restore Rwanda and Equip UK, CRY is helping with the building of a new school that will provide a high quality educational resource.

SERBIA (NEW)

The Bridge Day Centre, Nis: A centre for children, vulnerable young adults and their families who may be experiencing or are at risk of abuse or addictions

SOUTH AFRICA

Think Twice, Cape Town: This HIV/AIDS health education project is impacting on the lives of tens of thousands of children & young people, helping them to cope with the effects of abuse & keep safe. The programmes are also being replicated throughout Africa.

UKRAINE

Father’s House, Kiev: 20 children supported through CRY sponsorship, all who have been given the chance of a new life away from the streets. Ongoing programmes of work with children living on the streets, summer camps & support to State Children’s Institutions.
House of the Child, Sevastopol: Over 90 children, many with disabilities, receive care love & support. This Centre is the only resource in the region to cater for such children.
