CRY CHARITY WALK 2009 - Hedge End/ Botley area

This years CRY Charity Walk held at the end of September was a great success and the weather was very kind. It was especially good to see so many new faces taking part this year and we received positive comments from everyone, especially over the organisation and administration of the event by Rachel Walton and her excellent support team.

With walk distances of 2, 7.5, 15 and 21 miles, new routes and even treasure hunts, there was something for everyone. We expect to have received most of the sponsorship money by the end of November, at which time we will publish the amount on this website. Pictures will be uploaded to the site over the coming weeks.

Special thanks to Rachel Walton and her admin team; Roland & Veronica Hoskins for route planning and marking; the many volunteers who served as route marshals and welcomers; checkpoint, video, catering and clearing up teams and so many others who worked probably unnoticed in the background.

Also to the local firms who supported/helped publicise the event which included: Appleton Signs, Richmond Property Services, Sainsburys, Cotswold Outdoor, Hillier's Garden Centre, A R Veal, Tesco, Bendicks, Indigo Press, Genesis Print, Manor Farm Country Park, The Farmers Home Pub (Durley).

We have decided to move the CRY Walk date to the Spring, with the next taking place Spring 2011.
