KIEV Rescuing Children from the Streets Without the help available through outreach programmes run by the organisations and individuals of Father's House, MIR Foundation, Victory Church and EZRA Center, street children in Kiev have little hope of living a normal life or perhaps even of surviving. Most are between the ages of 7 - 14. Some are as young as 4 years old.
These comprehensive and effective programmes includes working with children on the streets and helping them with their problems. They are often encouraged to visit drop-in centres where they can eat, wash and receive counselling. Short-term ‘adjustment’ accommodation is provided as the first step towards a life away from the street.
