Thank You

Thank you for your ongoing support to CRY, which enables our work around the world to continue.

The coronavirus pandemic continues to change lives worldwide, as lockdowns bring countries to a halt and stop income for many families who live hand to mouth.

CRY has continued to work throughout the spread and lockdowns, altering our projects slightly to meet each need as it arises. Many of our projects have been distributing food packs to families who are now not receiving any income and would otherwise starve. Most of them receive no government help and so our support to them is essential.

We would like to share how we at CRY are handling the impact of the coronavirus spread in some of the projects we work with. In Kenya, we are providing weekly food vouchers to the most vulnerable families. We have provided over 830 vouchers since March. We have also provided masks to each family to keep them safe, educating them on the virus symptoms, how to reduce the spread and how to use a face mask.

In Iraq, we delivered boxes of food to some of the poorest families in the community where we work. It was a privilege to be involved in food distribution at this difficult time. This was the only food some of these families and children had eaten for days.

In Romania, during the lockdown our teams were in contact weekly by phone calls with the families; although very simple, it was very useful to let the families know that we were there for them and they hadn't been abandoned.

In Bulgaria, three times a week we offer lunch (usually soup and bread) in front of the centre to the families of our students who are struggling. We are caring for about 140 children and their families.

These are just a few examples of the difference we have been able to make amidst the pandemic thanks to your support. Please keep an eye out on social media for more stories and updates, and please do stay in contact with us through email at ukoffice@cry.org.uk, on social media, or sign up to our fortnightly emails click here

Our CRY shops closed for a few months under UK lockdown, but we are delighted that they are up and running again, raising vital funds to ensure we can continue to support our projects. The closure impacted us greatly, however, and we have relied heavily on generous donations from you, our supporters, so thank you for continuing to stand by us through this time.

Children and families still need our help, and we are not out of the woods yet. Please consider, if you can, donating towards CRY. It would change the life of a child and their family. Here's how:

£20 provides a food pack for a family for 1 month in the Philippines

£5 feeds a child for a week in Cambodia

£1.70 feeds a child breakfast and lunch per day in Kenya

Please help us to continue our work by going to our donate page.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you too through this current situation. Please get in contact if there’s anything we can specifically pray for you for; we’d love to stand with you.

Thank you so much. All of us at CRY wish you God’s peace during this current time.
