Burkina Faso is a landlocked country in West Africa with 44% of its population under 15 years of age. (source)

Burkina Faso is currently facing a severe humanitarian crisis. Attacks from non-state armed groups have been increasing and have driven the displacement of over 1 million people, including 900 000 children.

The country is facing epidemic threats from Ebola and Cholera in addition to Covid-19, however the ongoing violence and insecurity has meant that 83 health facilities have had to close and 273 are operating at minimum capacity. Over 2000 schools have closed preventing children from accessing education (source).

The ongoing issues have also resulted in food insecurity. As a consequence, almost 700000 children under 5 suffer from acute malnutrition.(source)

The crisis in Burkina Faso is devastating to so many families and children. CRY are supporting a project in the north of the country, to provide food and medical care to displaced families on a regular basis.

CRY’s heart is to build a better future for these displaced children by improving their nutrition and access to healthcare. Please join us in our mission and donate to this emergency fund today.
