Romania was the birthplace of CRY, the capital Bucharest being the location of the first children’s home in 1996. Since then we have continued to work in the nation, and the focus of our work is now Brasov, some three hours drive from Bucharest.
The Vietti Noi Day Care Centre started in 2002 as a homework club, giving poor children from the city a hot meal and help with their homework. It now reaches 80 children in the city, and also runs a creche to support single mothers and help them look for employment. The centre also runs a food bank for 25 families.
