CRY is providing aid to the New Heart Foundation in Bolivia, an organization dedicated to helping girls who have been victims of violence and abuse.
They offer a secure environment for these girls to heal and rebuild their lives, as well as protect their future. New Heart Foundation has established a home for these girls and works towards reuniting them with their families. However, due to their traumatic experiences, it is not always possible to do so. The foundation is also committed to preventing abuse in the community by providing education and support to families. Their goal is to prevent such tragedies from happening in the first place.
Although family reunification is a top priority, certain girls cannot be reunited with their families and must spend their adolescent years living in the home. The New Heart team is currently developing a life skills and planning approach to guide each girl towards independence. The foundation of this approach is training in a specific field or trade that will offer sustainable employment once they are living on their own.
This particular project aimed at providing life skills and technical training will benefit the 15 girls residing at New Heart Foundation directly. Moreover, hundreds of children, parents, teachers, and community members attending New Heart's seminars, training sessions, or ministry activities throughout the year will also benefit indirectly.
