SPONSORSHIP RAISED IN 2011 FROM THE CRY WALKS The CRY Walks 2011 took place on the 8th May in Jersey and on the 21st May in Hampshire, both days were lovely and sunny days and hugely successful... A big thank you to all the walkers who took part! The amount raised in Hampshire was £6,079.76... added to the fantastic amount of £7,000 raised by the CRY JERSEY WALK... making a total of £13,079.76!!! A brilliant achievement! A CLOSER LOOK AT THE CRY SPONSORED WALK... The CRY Sponsored Walk, is an annual event (except for 2010) which makes up for a substantial chunk in the charity's income and goes directly to the projects that CRY supports. The CRY Walk has been an increasingly successful and popular CRY event over the last 6 years, raising awareness of CRY's work. Previously the walk has taken place in Hedge End and the surrounding villages, which has been very successful, however we felt it was time to look at different routes which has inevitably meant the need for a new walk location. We were really excited to have hosted the walk at Itchen Valley Country Park for the first time last year, giving the option of new walk distances and routes along the Itchen Way, including the BIG Walkathon - 26 miles to Winchester and back! We look forward to this year's even more!
