CRY WALK 2014 REVIEW - HAMPSHIRE
The CRY Walk 2014 took place on Saturday 10 May, starting from King's Community Church in Hedge End. 90 walkers took part in four organised walks: 21, 13.5, 7.5 and 2.5 miles.
The event was great fun for all involved: with walkers ageing from 3-70 and a few (very tired) dogs, all of whom received a certificate for their achievement.
The day started at 7am as the hardcore 21 mile walkers arrived: ready to brave the wind and rain in their walking gear and waterproofs. Fortunately, the weather got better and better as the day went on: with the sun shining and only one little shower when the 7.5 mile walkers had set off. But nothing dampened the spirit!
It was great to be joined by a team of walkers from Barclays in Southampton along with many other new faces and seasoned CRY walkers. Special metions have to go to Doug, Barry, James and Josh who finished the 21 mile walk in an impressive 6 hours 27 minutes.
And of course the day ended with coffee and cake, all around a fantastic event.
The CRY walk 2014 raised over £10,000 between the Jersey and Hampshire walkers.
