Hear the cries of our heart, Lord, our plea for your peace,
Our desperate prayer for violence to cease,
Hear our calling to you, when we feel powerless and far,
Knowing you can move mountains, we need only ask.
The nations are crying, they’re hurting, they weep,
The children within them, with tears as they sleep,
They need you, as their father, to step in with your might,
Give the strength that they need to get through the night.
And as each day comes, with hope hard to find,
May your promises and scripture, race to their mind.
May they call upon you, for protection in power,
Knowing you are with them in their darkest hour.
But above all we ask, that the conflicts would end,
That wars would be over, that foe would turn friend.
Your nations, your world, your children, your kin,
We stand with them today, as we pray, Lord, step in.
