Children are some of the most vulnerable people on Earth. Across the world, millions are growing up without the basics every child needs.

  1. 400 MILLION children live in poverty.
  2. 1 in 6 child live in a conflict zone.
  3. 272 MILLION children are out of school.

Beyond stats, action.

Countless children don't have enough food, a safe home, access to education, or the emotional support each child needs.

For many, poverty, conflict, and displacement are not distant crises but daily realities, forcing children to carry burdens no child should ever bear.

Separated from their families, exposed to violence, and denied opportunities because of the situation they were born into, these children face challenges that shape their entire futures.

CRY helps the children who need it most to thrive and rise beyond poverty. Here’s why your support matters.

  • In 2026, CRY supports children in nine of the ten countries identified by the International Rescue Committee as most at risk of humanitarian crisis, as well as four additional high-need countries.

  • Nearly 90% of children living in extreme poverty are in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia (UN), where most of CRY’s partnership work is focused.

  • In fragile, conflict-affected areas, half of all children live in extreme poverty, compared with 11% in stable regions (UN). CRY provides humanitarian support where conflict has disrupted access to food, healthcare, and education.

With the right care, and relief these young can be given the chance to grow, dream, and build a better tomorrow - beyond poverty. That's where we come in. You can too.
