A Prayer for Gen Z Amid Global Unrest

In recent months, several countries have witnessed demonstrations led by Gen Z — particularly in places where we serve, such as Peru, Madagascar, Nepal, and the Philippines, among others.
Beyond the politics, we feel compelled to pray: for this generation, for the governments involved, for the injustices and disconnection they are responding to. We pray that the civil right to demonstrate will be respected, that violence from both protestors and authorities will cease, and that dialogue will be marked by clarity and peace.
Ultimately, we ask that the outcome of these movements would lead each nation closer to peace, justice, and lasting economic stability.
You can join us in praying for this topic by reading and praying in your heart the following prayer:
Father God,
Father of all,
We cry out your name,
Would you hear our call?
Would you bring your peace, that we know so well?
May it rest in the lands where your children dwell?
Whether they’re standing in the streets, or sitting in power,
Would you be their refuge, their fortress, their tower?
Would you bring your peace, where your people meet,
In congress, in meetings, holding signs in the streets.
We ask for your Spirit to fall and to bring,
A sense of unity, of justice, with you as their King.
Would your peace cross the globe, from Nepal to Peru,
Across the Philippines, and to Madagascar too.
Where the generation of those brave enough to stand,
Are fighting for justice, bring Your peace to the land.
Where violence is reigning, we ask you, intervene,
We know there is hope for the future unseen.
Help progress be made, the outcomes be good,
Restore the safety, we know that you could.
We ask you to go, and to do what you do,
We pray in full faith and in awe of you.
We know you can move, it’s not an ‘if’ but a ‘when’,
For your Kingdom to come, forever Amen.
