At All Costs

“Children are not a distraction from more important work. They are the most important work.” — C.S. Lewis
To all of us, children should mean everything. As John F. Kennedy famously said, “Children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best hope for the future.” Supporting, nurturing, loving, and caring for them should not be a side task or a ministry we help once in a blue moon — it should be one of our priorities. Because children are tomorrow’s hope.
It is our shared responsibility to protect them.
Right now, in light of global news, firsthand reports, and what we witness with our own eyes, we are deeply troubled by a painful reality: the life of a child is far too often treated as if it holds little value. We pray and cry out to God for all children, that they may be protected, valued, and cherished. We call on governments and groups everywhere to uphold international law and children’s rights, and to defend the dignity and life of every child, regardless of colour, ethnicity, or religion.
We must, collectively, protect children at all costs.
At CRY, we support vulnerable children in over 30 nations. Each precious child we serve is equally valued and cared for — but today, our hearts are especially heavy for those caught in the midst of devastating crises. We grieve for the children of Gaza, desperately in need of food, safety, and emotional support. We mourn the loss of the eight-year-old girl tragically killed in the recent Cambodia–Thailand border conflict. And we ache for the children trapped in ongoing humanitarian emergencies across South Sudan, RDC, Sudan, Burkina Faso, Haiti, and so many other places where young lives are marked by fear, hunger, and unimaginable hardship.
You may feel overwhelmed — even experience compassion fatigue — and understandably so. Yet there is still something you can do: pray, donate, or advocate for the rights of children.
We must, collectively, protect children — at all costs.
