Light in the darkness

In deep darkness, a light has dawned. - Isaiah 9:2

We have recently announced our 10-year vision—an ambitious commitment to dramatically increase our impact on children around the world. We are increasingly aware of the harsh realities that too many children face daily, and we feel compelled to press forward, doing all we can to bring hope and change.

While we acknowledge that we cannot eradicate poverty entirely from the earth, we remain steadfast in our mission to help as many children as possible until the day when God's justice prevails and every wrong is made right.

With this in mind, we are dedicated to reaching vulnerable children wherever they are—whether in a specific geographic region or caught in difficult circumstances that leave them in need of urgent support. We are committed to being present, stepping into the areas of greatest need, and creating a meaningful impact—serving as co-workers and ambassadors of Christ here on earth. To do this effectively, we partner with local leaders—often those native to the communities we serve—ensuring that our work is deeply rooted, sustainable, and truly transformative.

To ensure we remain true to our calling, we regularly review reports and data from external organisations. One resource we find particularly insightful is the Emergency Watchlist Report by the International Rescue Committee.

This year’s report highlights that we are supporting children in (or from) seven of the ten most ‘at-risk’ nations globally. Furthermore, on their expanded list, we are also working in four additional nations facing significant challenges.

Namely: Sudan, Occupied Palestinian Territory, Myanmar, South Sudan, Lebanon, Burkina Faso, and Haiti. In their expanded list: Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Nigeria, and Ukraine.

Reports like these reaffirm that we are serving in the right places, where our mission is needed most. But our work is not done alone. We invite everyone not just to observe or solely contribute to CRY, but to see themselves as part of CRY—a movement of like-minded people fighting for a more just and equal world, especially for children. We encourage you to take action: pray, donate, and advocate. You can read our 10-year vision to find out more.

Alternatively, we invite you to join us for our charity dinner to explore further how we can collectively make a difference.
