Who we are

We are a local Christian charity, that works mainly overseas to help children and young people to fulfil their God-given potential.

The work that CRY carries out worldwide falls into 5 key areas: Enabling Education, Empowering Girls, Supporting Refugees, Providing Aid, and Improving Mental Health. You can find out more about the projects that our work supports by visiting our projects page here.

We are independent from Care & Relief for the Young (CRY UK) but fundraise for them, and see them as our parent charity. We have our Trustees in Jersey, who meet regularly to plan for and support our work. The majority of our fundraising is carried out by our 2 successful charity shops, but we also hold events throughout the year to increase awareness locally of the valuable projects we are supporting worldwide and raise funds to support these.

Donations

Regular or one-off donations are gratefully received – no matter how small.

Donations can be made to: HSBC Bank | 40-25-34 | 61534130

If you live in Jersey pay tax here, and donate to us of £50 or more you can help us even further by using the Jersey Gift Support Scheme. For example, a donation of £50 entitles us to claim an additional £12.50 from the Government of Jersey. Regular donations count too - as long as you donate £50 or more in a year, and the donation is made directly to Cry Jersey. When you donate, all you need to do is download the form from here: Jersey Gift Support Form, and return it to us at one of our shops below. If you make a regular donation you only need to complete the form and return it to us once. For more information on how the scheme works, click here.

Volunteering

A great way to support Cry is to offer your help at one of our shops – we are always in need of volunteers to help with various jobs. You might prefer to help behind the scenes, or in a more customer-facing role, for a morning or an afternoon, or even for just a few hours. Whatever time you have to commit, we would be pleased to hear from you. We would also welcome students who wish to volunteer during school holidays.
